Emotional Quake.....!!!!!

Once again, yesterday, an earthquake of high intensity (8.7 on the ritcher scale) shook certain regions of the world. It was Indonesia this time. Last time it was Japan.

The frequency and intensity of both, Earthquakes and Tsunamis, seem to be on the rise in the recent past.Every now and then there is either of these two disasters striking some part of the world. The damage, the destruction and the disruption that follows is evident.Massive destruction of living beings and tangible property!!!

But isn't the same thing happenning in the world all around in terms of intangibles???

Aren't we shaken and stirred out of our senses every now and then when an 'emotional-quake' of high intensity strikes us? Aren't we destroyed and disturbed every time a 'mental-Tsunami' of great magnitude hits us from unexpected quarters?

And in these cases, there is no apparent physical or tangible thing destroyed or damaged but so many intangibles get deleted from our emotional and mental spaces that we at times take much longer to recover from the turmoil caused and face the emptiness created.

In the case of disasters like earthquakes or Tsunamis, the physical property destroyed can be rebuilt or reconstructed, albeit with a lot of effort and other requirements. but in the case of destruction of ones emotions, feelings and thoughts, "reconstruction" and "rebuilding" is not possible.

Also, the former disasters are natural and caused by various geographical shifts, for example a shift in the tectonic plates, but in the case of emotional and mental disasters, the culprits are people- these are absolutely man-made disastaers- and are caused by shifts in their preferances or attitudes or agendas.

In today's times, people don't think twice before hurting someone's feelings, playing with someone's emotions or even attacking someone's self-respect or dignity.

The damage, the destruction and the disturbance that they cause within someone's heart and mind by their attitudes is beyond repair ..!!!! and much worse to bear ...!!!!
